Denver - Adoptable dogs and local models strutted their stuff at Mile High Station April 9, 2010 for Project Ruffway. Proceeds from the event benefit the CSU Animal Cancer Center Scholarship Fund and the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation.
The 2nd Annual Project Ruff Way benefit brought adoptable pooches and pet-lovers together Friday night for music, food and runway-strutting fun. It was also a night to celebrate canine cancer survivors, including Jake Blake, who strutted down the runway with his owner Mike. Mike thanked the participants for their donations that helped to save Jake’s life through a clinical trial run by the first Bow Wow Buddies Scholar at the ACC, Dr. Scott Hafeman.
The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation has pledged $50,000 annually in scholarship support for veterinarians pursuing specialty training in cancer treatment for animals. To date there are three scholarship recipients. Scholarship recipients Drs. Jenna Burton and Jim Perry showed they are not only veterinarians but models to as they modeled with an adoptable dog!
Overall a fun night was had by all and several adoptable dogs from the Table Mountain Dog Rescue found homes.
