Clinical Trials

Varian Linear AcceleratorThe Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University has many ongoing clinical trials. These studies help doctors in the medical and veterinary fields investigate methods to improve detection and treatment of cancer, as well as improve the quality of care each patient receives.

We understand that hearing a diagnosis of cancer in a loved one can be very emotional. We know it can be confusing and difficult to understand some of the medical terminology. For some, even entering a veterinary hospital may seem overwhelming. For this reason, the Animal Cancer Center has assembled a special team to help people understand the language and requirements of clinical research trials. And most importantly, the team will provide familiar faces and offer gentle encouragement to the entire family. Our goal is to give you a thorough understanding of our clinical trials, explain what is in store for you and your pet, and provide compassionate care throughout the treatment period.

Below you will find a thumbnail sketch of several of the clinical trials for which we are accepting patients. The studies are listed in no particular order. Described for each clinical trial is the purpose of the study, the patient entry criteria, the responsibilities of the pet owners, and any financial incentives that may apply. In general, these studies are available to qualifying patients living within 100 miles of the Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University. If you have further questions about any of our clinical trials, please contact our Consult Coordinator at (970) 297-4195.
